Well, when I taught my dog, Jack, to shake, I realized that it's easier to teach them when they see another dog doing the trick. My other dog, Brendle, already knows how to do it. I would hold out my hand (making sure Jack was watching) and she would shake my hand. It took me a few tries, but he finally learned how to do it. If anyone has a better way, please post it here because he only does it sometimes.
